Lilith said “No u!” and killed them instead. Long story short - The angels who came with Lilith and Inarius when Sanctuary was created were scared of the Nephalems’ power and wanted to kill them. Both Lilith and Rathma are fond of the Nephalem/humans.
In the cinematic you can see Rathma( first necromancer, son of Lilith and Inarius ) summoning her and saying “Blessed mother, save us.”. We will most likely interact with Inarius, but I think Lilith will not be the main villain in D4.
